Summer opportunity: food rescue volunteer, driving role (Fridays, June-September)

We are looking for a volunteer to take on our Friday food rescue driving role this summer, from June through September. Our volunteer drivers go out in the FamilyWorks van and help rescue food from our supermarket partners. The van goes out four mornings a week, rain or shine. This role is an essential part of our food bank operations, for bringing in food and for building relationships with local businesses. Accompanying you will be one of our experienced food rescue volunteers and full training will be provided. This is a weekly shift.

  • Mobile Food Pantry helper

Availability: Volunteer shifts are Tuesday-Friday, ranging from 8-3 pm or 8-6pm on Thursdays. After initial onboarding, we use online sign-up sheets for easy self-assignment. To find the right on-call role for you, contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Kat Johnson.
